Dear Members and friends,

I hope you enjoy reading the summer edition of the newsletter and that we will be able to meet as many of you as possible at the reunion in September.

The AGM will be held on Saturday September 3 at St George’s Hotel, Langham Place and further details, together with a booking form, may be found in the centre of this newsletter. We are delighted that Jackie Smith-Autard has agreed to be our speaker this year and her talk will be entitled ‘How Technology Can Aid Teaching, Dance Performance and Composition’.

The committee would very much like to try and increase the membership of the Network and particularly to develop the website. Any contributions to the website, either with news about yourself or your pupils, both past and present, would be most welcome. Photographs are also always helpful. Please send these to the email address overleaf.

With regard to the ‘re-establishment’ of London College, promising talks with the ISTD which took place earlier this year have unfortunately not materialised so we are back to trying to set up a privately-funded college. We have had a financial feasibility study undertaken and the set-up costs are likely to be in the region of £50,000. I will talk about this at the AGM but if any of you have any ideas, contacts or would be willing to be involved in the fund-raising project, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Subscriptions, which have been increased to £12, are due this month and should be sent to Ann Taber. Please contact us at lcdn@live.com and we will put you in touch with Ann, who will be happy to send you the relevant forms or provide you with an address to send your subscription.
