Letter from Phrosso

May 2011

Dear Friends,

I send you all my good wishes and was sorry not to be able to come to the last reunion. I was very ill and nearly died in September, but I am a lot better again and can walk with a three wheeler. I am happy in my flat here. Jacky lives in the same building and helps me in the evenings and I have carers to look after me during the day.

Various old students have visited me which is nice: Margaret Nicholls (née Norman), Carol Rentoul (nee Ponsford), Chrishanthi Nagendra (nee Gunasekera), and Debbie Holme.

I occasionally get out, and in January went to the Diaghilev Exhibition (in my wheel chair). I saw the original one by Richard Buckle five times and I must say that this was not in the same class, partly because there was less on Fokine. I also went to the ISTD dinner which was very nice as I met many people whom I know.

My Life is not very exciting because I cannot see to read and have to rely on television and radio. One nice thing that happens here in our flats is that one of the tenants, who is a nun, organizes dinners every few weeks for about eight people. These occasions are enjoyable as she is a wonderful cook and it is an opportunity to meet and talk to other people who live in the building.

From time to time Jacky and I go out for a meal. We have started to go to a nice restaurant in St. John’s Wood which has a wide variety of food; easy parking and I can walk in on the flat.

With my love and best wishes to you all and, health permitting, I hope to see you at the Reunion in September.
